On your first private lesson, Ralene starts with an assessment of your posture, strengths and weaknesses. Work with Pilates equipment on your personalised program to address your specific needs. After 2 private sessions you have the option of continuing one-on-one, or working on your program with a friend.

  • build core strength, protecting your spine and creating more stability and movement through your back, hips and shoulders.
  • Improve your posture, poise, balance and coordination.
  • Strengthen and increase the range or movement in your feet and ankles.
  • Make you stronger, more agile and more flexible.
  • Help you dance with greater ease, grace and control.
  • Build your awareness of your own body: of where you are in space, of which muscles should be working and which releasing to create each movement or line, and how to activate or release those muscles.

Pilates is a series of strengthening and stretching exercises which build core strength, mobilise the spine and increase flexibility. It builds strength without bulk, working with proper alignment and controlled movement. Regular Pilates practice will:

She is very excited about bringing her 2 passions "Pilates and Dance" together!

Qualifications :

Ralene has a Certificate IV in Pilates Instruction from the Pilates International Training Centre, and for her own personal development has renewed her qualifications with Polestar Pilates.

 

Pilates Experience :

She has been teaching Pilates to groups and individuals since 2005. In this time she has worked with a wide variety of clients, from the highly trained sports person to the 'average' client wanting more strength and flexibilty, to those rehabilitating from injury.

 

Personal Experience :

As a dancer with 'back & feet' issues, she has personal experience in how Pilates alleviates injuries and frees up movement. As a dance instructor she knows hows Pilates can make movement easier and more comfortable for her students so they can get the most out of their dance experience.
